Sterling silver wire comes in different gauges.  Gauge is a measure of diameter or thickness; the lower the number, the thicker the wire.  You will also see that wire comes in three different forms; dead soft, half hard and full hard.  Dead soft means the wire is very soft and can be bent with your hands (often used for wire-wrapped projects).  Half Hard is harder than dead soft because it has been annealed (pulled through a draw plate).  Full hard is harder than half hard because is it pulled through a draw plate several times.  We also carry half round, round, square and twisted shapes.
